The living space, and urban space in a broader sense, is the result of the personal interpretation of various elements. Psychology can therefore be the guiding tool for redesigning one’s own spaces and helping others to build their own.
Between mind maps, geographic maps and maps of one’s own home the course, between theory and practice, the course provides an original, integrated and investigative heuristic method of design and living psychology.
The course aims to provide the fundamentals in psychology of design and living and be an opportunity to verify the learning through an individual project, that will be supervised. In this regard the course includes a part of Coaching Conversation and a final project work. Any extra hours of supervision can be activated upon request at the end of the course.
The course is aimed at: university students of design and architecture, artistic, psychological and humanistic disciplines; to professionals operating in various sectors (interior decorators, designers, architects, event and show organizers, art gallery managers, teacher educators, artists, consultants, psychologists, showroom directors and companies), art lovers
Introduction and Coaching session – identification of the objective.
Psychology of Design / Between technique and theory // from prehistoric art to Donald Norman.
Visual perception and cognition – The cognitive and dynamic processes involved in the perception of a work of art and a product // The choice of the product: emotional design, decision making, critical thinking and neuromarketing.
Psychology of living space: between living and being. Contemporary contributions.
Inhabiting the world, living in my home; from public space to intimate space / Furniture and personality – Hosting relationships // Planning well-being.
Mindful living: living spaces with awareness. Positive psychology applied to living spaces.
Start of project implementation. Closure.
The course offers a series of practical exercises that can be used with your clients and a detailed bibliography.
At the end of the course a certificate of participation will be issued.
Duration: 10 individual hours with the teacher (online or individual / max 3 people). + min.4 individual independent project hours + 1 hour project supervision with the teacher.
